You Are What You Project -
Presentation Skills

Careers rise and fall on our communication skills. Positive Impressions do make a difference. They come from our ability to communicate, both verbally and nonverbally. Effectively combining the spoken word with supportive body language can greatly increase the impact you have on others.

Beginning On-Camera Class - Learn to:

  • Make an impact through the use of voice intonation, vocal variety and the effective pause
  • Connect with your audience by appealing to the three types of learners: visuals, auditories and kinesthetics
  • Let go of unwanted behaviors by identifying problem areas

Our ability to persuade, inform, inspire and sell to an audience depends on our effectiveness as speakers. Connecting with our audience is a powerful way to communicate our message. People are more apt to respond if they think we are speaking only to them.

Advanced On-Camera Class - Learn to:

  • Grab your audience. Learn and practice the difference between eye contact and eye communication
  • Move with purpose. Support your words with positive gestures and movement across the floor
  • Handle questions and resistance from the audience
  • Use the Q & A period to further your point of view

Storytelling:

Stories may seem simplistic, but they are one of the most effective methods to funnel our message into the hearts and minds of our listeners. They make an emotional impact on the audience. Learn the art of developing a memorable story that can be used on its own or as a point of emphasis in a presentation to further your point of view.

Media Preparation:

Are you preparing for a video presentation, TV interview or TV appearance? Knowledge of simple tips and techniques can put you at ease and help you project a polished performance. Work one-on-one in an on-camera session to discover:

  • How to convey your message clearly and concisely
  • How to connect with the audience.
  • What you project through your attitude. Are you credible, likeable?
  • What to do with your hands, legs and head
  • How to make your gesturing authentic
  • What clothing, makeup and colors look best on camera
  • How to handle a microphone
  • How to work with a TelePrompter
  • How to use stories to emphasize your viewpoint
